Fifth District Attorney Billy Coenen was indicted by a federal grand jury in Shreveport on Thursday for conspiring to secretly purchase land along what would become Poverty Point Reservoir and then selling the land at an elevated price.

ULM wide receiver Darrell McNeal was arrested Monday and charged with simple battery after an incident on campus. His bond was $500. Police say the 21-year-old McNeal was involved in an altercation at Madison Hall at 9:48 p.m., with the victim identified in the police report as his girlfriend.
