The Next Big Nothin'
View Full Profile
Bringing a mix of Texas country, Southern Rock, & alternative is the group known as The Next Big Nothin'. These guys have been in music in some form or another since a very young age. Matthew Justus and Dayne Ashley grew up in Jena, LA; at eventually they began teaching themselves the guitar. They played in another band called FEEDBACK, a local effort with some friends. Benjy Lewis moved to LaSalle Parish with a strong background in Hip-Hop, having produced and recorded for ten years with minimal success. He decided to return to his small-town roots and began singing and songwriting with the guitar duo. The group formed up with drummer Blake Thomas, a sit in drummer for other bands such as Southern Draw and Cowboy Up. Richie Biggers, the bass player, is from Monroe, and has played with area acts such as Dressed Up Naked and Truckstop Gravy. The result is an extensive mix of influences from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Metallica, Pat Green, Willie Nelson, Snoop Doggy Dogg, UGK, & Sublime, among many others. These influences afford the band to bring a show to audiences that truly offers something to everybody. Request them at a local event near you! We will have some music up soon!!
